Federal agents arrested a suspect in the torching and vandalizing of Tesla charging stations in South Carolina.
According to Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Agent Jordan Griffin, on 7 March, someone wrote "Fuck Trump" and "Long Live Ukraine" in a Tesla charging parking spot.
Griffin stated in the criminal complaint that the suspect then threw molotov cocktails made out of beer bottles at the Tesla charging stations.
Molotov cocktails are treated like a firearm under the National Firearms Act and must be registered with the federal government.
But before we get too carried away, all we have at this point is the cop's story. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but if we take Griffin at their word, it's clear that the suspect didn't do a very good job at not getting caught.
The suspect parked too close to the scene of the crime. Park your get away car several blocks away when you're committing felonies.
Throw away the clothes you wore committing the crime. And don't wear clothes that are distinguishable.
Throw away receipts from purchases in which you purchased things to carry out a crime.
Don't use fire during the commission of a crime unless you're prepared to face a felony in court.
As an aside, in their court filing, this is how the feds describe DOGE.
"DOGE is an initiative of the President to promote government productivity and efficiency."
Is that what DOGE is for? Or is it Elon Musk taking all of the federal contracts he wants and making them his.
The suspect has no prior record. Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms are charging the defendant with federal firearm charges for allegedly deploying molotov cocktails at Tesla dealership
If the cops aren't lying, this is a good example for what not to do if you don't want to get arrested.
